What’s up webfolk? The last time I wrote here for the taxes blog I blazing a trail on my keyboard as I put out my two cents about taxing the super rich. I started there and it kind of morphed into post about why the Bush tax breaks continue to stay in place while the majority of the country continues to struggle. To trying to decode the news media and their skewed way of producing the news for the masses which included a great clip from the Daily Show of Jon Stewart calling out the news media and their crap. If you did not see it I would highly recommend you click on over that previous post and just scroll down to the bottom to watch the clip.
So I walked away from the previous post with just a bunch more questions so I dove a little deaper on my Google searches and found this great article about a Super Rich Delusion at the Market Watch site. I will just quickly touch on some of the topics that really struck a cord with me but to really get the full effect I would highly recommend that you click on over there and read the full post. It’s one of those reads that make you wonder who the heck is leading this country and where do they think they are driving to?
One thing that struck me as a giant warning sign that we are headed down a very dangerous road is the point he made about all the revolution happening in the middle east. That is a place in the world where the rich and powerful have been there for a long time enjoying the fruits of life so to speak with a giant gap between the those who have and those who do not. Could anyone have ever predicted all the rebellion against the rich regimes of power out there? Did you ever think leaders like Ghadaffi who has been in power for ages would be fighting a revolution and he is not the only one as you know if you have been paying attention to the news of the world.
It feels like the world is collectively tired of the status quo so to speak and there is a lot of restlessness from the lack of change in the world for the better. Especially in the US where in spite of the recession we are still the richest place in the world with plenty of waste to go around for everyone. I think the biggest message that came across to me in this post was how close we as a country are probably walking the line between a full on financial depression and a full on revolution. The last thing that probably stung the most was to see how broken the American Dream is right now. What are your thoughts webfolk, are we teetering on another depression or a revolution? Leave your interesting responses in the comments section down below. Also if you did not click on over to that article about the taxing the super rich now or else.
Until next time peruser, kudos to you ![]()
